Terms of Service

Welcome to AffiniChat ("AffiniChat", "we", "us", or "our"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the AffiniChat website, applications, and chat services (collectively, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use AffiniChat. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement and that all information you provide is accurate and truthful.

2. Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify us promptly of any unauthorized use of your account. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, provide false information, or engage in abusive behavior.

3. Acceptable Use

When using AffiniChat, you agree not to:

• Harass, threaten, bully, or abuse other users.
• Post or send content that is illegal, hateful, sexually explicit, or violent.
• Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your identity, age, or affiliation.
• Use the Service for spam, scams, solicitation, or commercial advertising without our consent.
• Attempt to interfere with, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to the Service or other users' accounts.
• Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to access or interact with the Service.

We use a combination of automated AI moderation and user reports to enforce these rules. Violations may result in warnings, suspension, or permanent termination of your account without refund.

4. Subscriptions and Payments

AffiniChat offers optional paid subscription plans ("Starter", "Basic", "Premium") that unlock additional features such as group chats, extended chat history, additional avatar packs, and priority matching. Subscriptions are billed in advance on a recurring basis (monthly, unless otherwise stated) through our payment processor, Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your chosen payment method automatically each billing period until you cancel.

You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. Cancellation will take effect at the end of your current billing period, and you will retain access to paid features until then. See our Refund Policy for details on refunds.

5. Referral Program

AffiniChat may offer a referral program that rewards users with badges or other benefits for inviting friends who sign up and become active on the Service. We reserve the right to determine qualifying criteria, to modify or discontinue the referral program at any time, and to revoke rewards obtained through fraud, fake accounts, or abuse of the program.

6. User Content

You retain ownership of the messages, profile information, and other content you submit ("User Content"). By submitting User Content, you grant AffiniChat a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, transmit, and display that content solely for the purpose of operating and improving the Service, including automated moderation.

7. Tokens and Virtual Items

AffiniChat may offer virtual tokens, ratings, or similar in-app items. These have no monetary value, cannot be exchanged for cash, and may be adjusted, removed, or expired at our discretion as part of normal Service operation.

8. Disclaimers

AffiniChat is a platform for meeting and chatting with other people. We do not perform background checks on users and cannot guarantee the accuracy of any user's profile or identity. You interact with other users at your own risk, and we strongly recommend never sharing financial information, passwords, or other sensitive personal data with people you meet on the Service.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, AffiniChat and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties. You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by posting the updated Terms on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
